Dear Cavalry FC Fans, Friends, and Supporters,
In just a few days Cavalry FC will kick off its 2022 Canadian Premier League season in Ottawa. After opening the season with 3 games on the road in Ontario, the club will return to ATCO Field for our home opener on May 1st against Canadian Premier League Champion, Pacific FC.
What an incredible journey it has been since we first played in May of 2019. The Island Games of 2020, and the Kickoff event of 2021 in Winnipeg are all a part of our young “pandemic impacted” history. With those challenges have also come victories and achievements. Now, as we return to a sense of normalcy, we are excited to take the pitch before the best fans in the Canadian Premier League to commence 2022 regular season play. This season we will play a 15-game home schedule that offers 8 weekend fixtures, as well as a Friday night game, possible playoffs and Canadian Championship matches through to the end of October.
As an organization, Cavalry FC has tried to be visible and approachable through these 24 long months that have impacted us all. We have tried to engage all our stakeholders on a number of levels through a tremendous number of initiatives. This is certain to continue. Cavalry FC continues to be committed to building an organization, both on and off the field of play, to represent the community and the standards of excellence and inclusiveness associated with the Canadian Premier League, Spruce Meadows and our ownership.
The young professionals we have selected, six of whom are new to the roster this season, have worked hard and dedicated themselves to wear the Cavalry FC colours. They have shown us the desire, character, talent, and professionalism to be a part of our roster, and of our culture. Each has earned this right by differentiating themselves from the literally hundreds of players that have been scouted and evaluated. As an organization, Cavalry FC is also committed to continuing to set a standard of excellence in the Canadian Premier League. Each of you can also play a role in assisting us achieve this goal. We hope that each game day experience has an enthusiastic, supportive, and memorable atmosphere that is truly unique.
Our ethos to “Adapt and Overcome” has served us well through these difficult times. We thank each of you for believing in our vision and commitment to change the landscape of Canadian soccer together. Recent results from our women’s and men’s national teams are testament to that changing landscape. This will continue to be a truly memorable and historic journey.
Cavalry is back, and it’s good to be home!
