Canada Soccer Men’s National Team named 2022 the Canadian Press Team of the Year
Looking ahead to the next four-year cycle, Canada will compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026 as one of three co-hosts alongside Mexico and USA. The new journey starts in March 2023 with the continuation of 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League and a potential berth at the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, the region’s biennial confederation championship.

Karina LeBlanc appointed to the Order of Canada
LeBlanc is currently the General Manager at Portland Thorns FC, most recently leading her club to the 2022 NWSL Championship. Before joining the Thorns, she served as Head of Concacaf Women’s Football from 2018 to 2021. She has also served as an ambassador for UNICEF Canada.

Canada Soccer Joins ABUSE-FREE Sport in March 2023
Canada Soccer is pleased to announce further progress on its Safe Sport reforms, signing an agreement to join Abuse-Free Sport no later than 1 March 2023, the new independent program to prevent and address maltreatment in sport.

Futsal National Championship Awarded to Calgary
The 2023 Futsal Canadian Championship is scheduled for 13 to 16 April 2023 at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex in Calgary, Alberta and will be hosted by the Calgary United Soccer Association in partnership with Tourism Calgary.
